Praise the Lord in Jesus Name!
I apologize for the late post. First Pentecost has been a hub up activity as we have celebrated the work of the Holy Ghost this Christmas 2010.
Sunday, December 19 was an incredible day of 'new' things! The Sunday AM service was OVERSHADOWED with the an incredible move of God. In was a new 'high water mark' for seasonal services as the spirit of Worship came upon us and FPC responded beautifully.
We released the evening worship for the FPC family to travel to LifePoint Church Pulaski, TN to support this home missions work. The Christmas Chorale presented the musical "Hope Has Come" and the mighty presence of God visited the gathering!
Tuesday evening @ 7:00 PM, the Christmas chorale will present "Hope Has Come" in the FPC sanctuary. Please invite a friend and join us...

The ministries of Rev. & Mrs. Vandy Watt & Rev. Jason Avant were divinely timed and we are so thankful for their prayerful preparation.
Sunday, November 7 will likely be the launch of another extended Sunday morning class. Gunn Garden retirement center has opened its doors and we have 8 residents who have requested a service!! We give God praise. This brings us to two off-site Sunday services from 9:45 - 10:30 AM.

Rain was an Outpouring!!!
Sunday, September 12 was an amazing day in the Presence of the Lord.
We began @ 1:00 in the parking lot with the mortgage burning. What a tremendous moment of celebration as the FPC family officially finished the church mortgage process. We moved into the sanctuary and I rehearsed our coming and the 2010/2011 county crusade vision. This culminated with the commissioning of Rev. & Mrs. Tim Asher as the Project SHARE coordinators. FPC is so very blessed with capable leadership!
After a season of praise, worship and stewardship, Rev. Jason Sciscoe released a mighty Word from the Lord. Rev. James Pearcy captured the day when he said after service..."my life has been changed forever with this one service!"
Please order the audio from Brother Odis Lomax (odislomax@yahoo.com). You will be changed by this generational message.
I will post again later in the week relative to Sunday, September 19. I will tell you that the FPC family will be receiving the Lord's Supper in the evening service.

Tipton (Vicksburg, MS), Rev. & Mrs. Jeff Dillon (Winchester, VA) and Rev. & Mrs. Phillip Miller (Jackson, TN). Each of these ministries released the Word of God with anointing and boldness. We are blessed!
We rejoiced with Brother Carl Stateler when he was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 14.
We have noted a special touch of God's Presence on the services as He continues to prepare the Church for His soon return.
Sunday, May 2, 2010 will be an exciting day of worship and fellowship. The morning service will be a special time of celebration and ministry of the Word. Beginning at 4:00 PM we will enjoy our spring church fish fry and afterward meet for an all church softball game. A fun time is expected to be had by all!
As of this writing, I will be bringing the morning lesson at 9:45 to the Sanctuary class and then releasing the morning message in the master service at 11:00. By Saturday morning, Lord willing, I will post a preview of the impression of for the weekend.
Please expect a great outpouring of the Holy Ghost on us all. Get ready....Sunday's Coming!

Family Foundations Sunday was incredible! The presence of the Lord prompted repentance, renewing and revelation. The FPC family received the ministry of Rev. Darrell Sparks (Portland, Oregon) and he ministered in both the morning and evening services. The messages were direct and life changing. The audio can be ordered from Odis Lomax (odislomax@yahoo.com).
Revival services begin tonight with Rev. Larry Blackwell and will continue through Thursday evening. Rev. Blackwell is one of our own and will be working in the evangelistic gift. He will be ministering to those who are coming to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. We are also believing for a special operation of the gifts of the Spirit and miracles. Believe with us!
We are expecting Sunday, March 28 to be a dynamic day of prayer, worship and works of the Holy Ghost. I will be bringing the morning and evening messages to the FPC family and will be praying that our God will minster to specific needs.

Sunday, March 14, 2010 Family Foundations Sunday
Jesus Name Greetings!
On Sunday, March 7, Rev. Larry Blackwell taught the sanctuary class on the subject of “Uzziah must die”. What a powerful and relevant lesson encouraging the class to remember that each of us is called to a specific role in the body and it is very important that we abide in that calling. The morning message, “Your Faith is greater than the Famine”, came to us as the first sermon of the Book of Ruth preaching series.
This week has been both exciting and exhausting. We have met with various focus groups each night this week to teach/discuss family and home issues. The audio of each session can be order from Brother Odis Lomax (odislomax@yahoo.com). The media team will hopefully have the session posted online at www.firstpentecost.com as soon as they are web ready. Subjects covered were; what is love, parenting in the 21st century, God’s order for the home, singles and students issues (with Rev. Darrell Sparks, Portland, Oregon), family/personal finance and finding love and companionship again.
Sunday, March 14 is Family Foundations Sunday with very special events happening in both services. The sanctuary class is set to be an Anti-Family Legislation Awareness session. Brother Bruce Wright, FPC Education Director, and I are teaming up to inform the FPC family of real-time efforts, by political and social entities, to erode parental authority.
The evening service is online to be a Family Symposium. We are gearing up to honor diamond (60+ years), golden (50-59 years) and ruby (40-49 years) marriages as well as hear a ‘marriage tip’ from each of them. A couple of other things are planned that I cannot divulge at the time…shhhhhhhhh!
The Lord is so good to us! The new church mortgage balance is just under $30, 200.00! Sister Burns and I are believing the Lord for a “Pay it off Spirit” to fall on the FPC family…Suddenly (get 3/7/2010 PM audio)!
Please invite someone to service with you and…Get Ready…Sunday’s Coming!!!

Jesus Name Greetings!
The FPC family is so blessed! God has favored us with so many outpourings of His Spirit and for that we are thankful and humbled. The move of God among every demographic in this congregation is amazing. Surely the coming of the Lord is upon us.
Last Sunday, February 21, began with discipleship classes for all ages; including a worship/teaching service to the residents of Decatur County rest home. We deeply thank Sister Rosalind Laster for all she does to make this ministry possible. Sister Glenda Ruff and Brother Manuel Ledbetter teamed up to minister in this class. Thank you!
Rev. Thomas Gray continued teaching the sanctuary class lesson series entitled “Restoration” from 1 Samuel 30. I had hoped to begin a sermon series taken from Book of Ruth. However, the service took some turns that brought us to preaching “This Glorious Gospel” of Jesus Christ. Thank God for the Plan of Salvation!
The evening service was amazing. Our evangelist, Rev. & Mrs. Jason Pearcy, ministered to the FPC family from the Temptation of Jesus in the sermon, “Led to be tempted; Driven to be Triumphant”. You really must get the audio (odislomax@yahoo.com)!
Sunday, February 28 is filled with promise and expectation. Rev. Thomas Gray will complete the “Restoration” series in the sanctuary class, Elder & Mrs. James Darby will conduct the rest home service and I am scheduled to deliver the morning message to the FPC family. In the evening service, we will receive the ministry of our dear friends, Rev. & Mrs. James Pearcy, Waynesboro, Tennessee…

Jesus Name Greetings!
On February 14 Love is celebrated in many ways. The FPC family came together on Sunday, February 14 to rejoice and again receive the marvelous Love of God. The Sunday morning message entitled ‘The Gospel”. came to us from 1 Thessalonians 1:5.
In the evening service, Rev. Heath Daniels, Madison, Mississippi, ministered from Hebrews 13:10 in the message “We Have an Altar”.
The Lord Jesus spoke to each heart and the day was completed as 5 year old Anna Jones was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and 7 year old, Zachary Anglin (the first water baptismal candidate of the year) received his personal Pentecost. To God be the Glory!
I would like to encourage every follower of this blog to reach Brother Odis Lomax (odislomax@yahoo.com) and order your audio copy of the current Wednesday evening teaching series entitled “His Glorious Church”. The Lord Jesus is speaking to His Church to prepare ourselves for His soon return.

Jesus Name Greetings!
We rejoice over all the Lord has done these past few days. Sunday, February 7 was an exciting day of celebration as the FPC family received the guest ministries of Rev. & Mrs. Ron Brown and Rev. & Mrs. Phillip Miller. Rev. Brown preached a powerful message…”Don’t let your past crowd out your future” in the morning service, and Rev. Miller blessed the FPC family with the message…”Serpent Eggs” in the Sunday evening service. Sister Burns and I are so thankful that 2 precious children received the Holy Ghost over the weekend. Hannah Anglin and Kaylynn Diller experienced their personal Pentecost!
Great things are happening at FPC, and we are excited and anticipate a continued outpouring of the Holy Ghost this coming Sunday. Rev. Thomas Gray will continue teaching his ‘Restoration’ series, and I will be bringing a special message concerning the Holy Ghost Baptism.
We will also be blessed by the ministry of Rev. Heath Daniels, Madison, Mississippi. Rev. Daniels interned at FPC during the summer break of his junior year of bible college and won our affection in simply laboring among us. He will be teaching in the student ministries session for ages 13 – High School and greeting the FPC family in the evening sanctuary service. We welcome Rev. Daniels!
We will be blessed by the various chorales, special singing, worship and move of the Holy Ghost among us! We encourage you to invite a friend and join us and…

Sister Burns and I greet you from the snow covered state of Virginia! The forecast is for 22+ inches by the end of the weekend. Pastor & Mrs. Jeff Dillon and the Cornerstone United Pentecostal church of Winchester, VA have been so gracious to invite us to minister in their pulpit this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and we are expecting the Lord to move for this great congregation in a very special way. Please help us pray for the Lord to perform all His plans for us. The church family has been in an extended season of consecration and they are expecting the Lord Jesus to visit the city of Winchester, VA with revival, harvest and divine favor!

He has shared some of his leadings with me and we are in for an exciting February in the sanctuary class. Should you miss a lesson, please order your audio copy from Brother Odis Lomax (odislomax@yahoo.com).

Jesus Name Greetings!
The Spirit of God is calling the Church to ‘make herself ready’. The FPC family is hearing the call and the power of His Grace is enabling us to prepare for the coming of the Lord.
I thank Rev. John Guthrie for delivering 4 powerful lessons from the ‘sermon on the mount’ series. Please get with Brother Odis Lomax (audio booth) to order your copies of these incredible lessons. You will want to refer to them in the months to come.
The Sunday morning message on 1/24 concluded the ‘Call of Colossians’ series. We received the apostle Paul’s warning to ‘Beware’ of becoming a spoil of the great spiritual battle that is raging. That battle is centered in Humanism.
The FPC family was so blessed by the Youth chorale on Sunday morning and the debut of the Sanctuary chorale in the evening service. Thank you Music Ministry for lifting up the Lord in song and worship!
The FPC family was challenged and encouraged by the ministry of Rev. Terry Arnold, Tennessee District Home Missions director in the Sunday evening service. We were challenged from his Romans 1:14-17 text to respond to the call of missions and reach out in evangelism! We were encouraged to direct our ‘debt of gratitude’ for all that the Lord has done for us toward those that have yet to hear this Acts 2:38 salvation message. Thank you Rev. Arnold for an on time message!
We are set to receive Missionary Steve Smith (Guyana) on Sunday morning January 31 and then the ministry of Rev. & Mrs. Doug Ellingsworth (Finley UPC) in the Sunday evening service! Help us pray for a great outpouring of the Holy Ghost and fire in all that is done…

Jesus Name Greetings!
We are living in powerful times! The world stage is being set, the end-time actors are being dressed and the Church of Jesus Christ is being positioned to shine with the Glory of the Lord.
Sunday, January 17 was another weekend filled with the working and operation of the Word and Spirit. Rev. John Guthrie taught the 3rd lesson in his incredible Sermon on the Mount series. He will be teaching the final lesson for the month on January 24. You will want to order (odislomax@yahoo.com) the audio and enjoy this practical, Kingdom instruction series.
The Sunday evening service on January 17 was crowned as the FPC family received Rev. & Mrs. Tim Asher. They ministered to the FPC family in both song & sermon and the Lord honored their ministry again. The Word of the Lord, “I am doing a great work and I ain’t comin’ down!” came to us from Nehemiah 6:1-4. Such a timely Word! Thank you Rev. Asher. Your Prayer-paration shows!
We are expecting another powerful move of God in the Sunday, January 24th evening service as we receive the guest ministry of Rev. & Mrs. Terry Arnold, Sr. Pastor of Chattanooga’s East Ridge United Pentecostal Church and Tennessee District’s Home Missions Director. Expect a move of God with us!
With the help of the Lord, I will bring the final ‘Call of Colossians’ in the morning message to the FPC family taken from Colossians 2:4-8. We will attempt to again expose the adversary’s hope to ‘spoil’ the Church through philosophy & traditions of men, the post modern manifestation being religious humanism.

Jesus Name Greetings!
What an exciting day Sunday, January 3 turned out to be. Rev. John Guthrie instructed & encouraged the sanctuary class from the ‘sermon on the mount’ series. The children’s chorale sang “It was a great thing” as 8 year old Zachary Anglin, the first baptismal candidate of the New Year, was immersed in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins!
We commissioned the existing and newly appointed 2010 leadership team as follows:
Music Ministry Sister Burns
Prayer Ministry Arthur & Kate Steward
Student Ministry (13 yrs thru HS) Darren & Rebecca Davis
Education Ministry Bruce & Judy Wright
Welcome Ministry Max & Deborah Pals
Ladies Ministry Kelli Goode
During the afternoon, the house of God was a hub of activity as the Bible quiz teams practiced for their January tournaments and the music ministry practiced their repertoire of songs.
The pivotal point for the weekend was the Sunday evening service. Rev. Tim Asher preached to us “Hell’s only Hope” from Psalm 133:1-3. What a message for the hour! The adversary of the Church has only one hope; to divide us. A great move of the Holy Ghost came in the closing as the FPC family recommitted to ‘endeavoring to keep the Unity of the Spirit…till we all come to the Unity of the Faith”
By all accounts, First Pentecost is in store for another tremendous year of spiritual workings. We are diligently seeking the purpose of God to be revealed through us.
The impressions for Sunday, January 10, 2009 include the ministry of Rev. & Mrs. Thomas Gray in the morning Decatur county rest home service. Rev. John Guthrie will continue his “sermon on the mount’ Bible lesson to the sanctuary class. The next 3 Sunday morning messages will come to us from the Book of Colossians as we reconnect with the cardinal Truth of the Mighty God in Christ, the far reaching work and operation of Baptism and the clear call of Colossians to beware of becoming a ‘spoil’ of the spiritual battle raging between Christianity and Humanism.

Jesus Name Greetings!
As every year since our coming to Parsons, the year closed with an eye toward reflection and a desire for greater consecration. The closing sermons of the year reminded the FPC family that we are 'sons and daughters of the True High Priest'. As Aaron's sons continued his ministry, so this 'royal priesthood' continues the ministry of our High Priest (Hebrews 3:1,6). The laws of consecration to minister in the holy places of His Presence require that we are not only anointed but remain consecrated (Exodus 30:30) unto the Lord.
A primary purpose of this blog will be to keep our church family informed and inspired. I will be using the basic format of reflection on the past 7 days and a 'hint' of what I see coming for Sunday.
This 1st Sunday of '10 will be filled with ministry and a flurry of last minute organizational meetings to launch the New Year.
Brother Jordan and I will team up to minister at the rest home @ 9:45 AM.
Rev. John Guthrie will begin a "Beatitudes" study series with the Sanctuary class @ 9:45 AM.
The Children's and Youth Chorales are preparing to sing unto the Lord in the morning service.
Ladies Ministry will be meeting from 5:00 - 5:45 PM in the prayer room.
Rev. Tim Asher is scheduled to preach the Word in the evening evangelistic service.
The morning worship service is being dedicated to commissioning the 2010 leadership team. From Acts 13:1-4, I will direct this new team to do their very best to let all of our church activities and pursuits flow out of the pattern given to us by this Antioch leadership team; prayer, fasting & worship must be the birthplace of all our sending!
