Greetings in Jesus! We welcome you to the informational blog of the First Pentecost Church. It is our prayer that your January 2012 will be filled with abundant blessing and favor of God.This past Sunday the PFC sanctuary class continued the character studies series in the life of Cain and Abel. The mornng message "The Journey to a Double Portion Anointing; Bethel" challenged the FPC family to leave Gilgal behind and make the journey to Bethel, the House of God!The FPC family released the evening service in order to grieve the passing the our dear sister Naomi Powers. The FPC family met at the Oakdale funeral home throughout the afternoon and minister comfort and healing to the Powers and Hamm families.

Happy New Year! I wish you and yours God's very best for 2012. This post is with apologizes for being so late. The sanctuary class lesson was the introduction into a series of character studies that will last through February 2012.

The morning message was also the first of a series of messages that will come in January entitled, "The Double Portion Anointing".

The FPC family will consecrate the departmental leadership team in a special 6:00 PM service. The evening service will a special time of Worship and Stewardship!

This Sunday will be our final Sunday services of the year. We have opted to release services after the children's presentation on Tuesday, December 20 until our return on Wednesday, December 28. This will allow many to gather with family and extended families as well as make the necessary travels.

This Sunday the FPC sanctuary class will continue the book of Acts series from Acts 19. The 11:00 AM message, "Accepted", will come to us from the combined texts of Genesis 4 and Ephesians 1.

Sister Burns and I were blessed to travel to Beaumont, Texas this week and spend some time with our dear friends, Rev. & Mrs. Jonathan Green. The Green's were greatly used of God in 2003 to reap a 50 soul harvest here in Parsons. We love the Green's.

Today the sanctuary class will continue the Book of Acts series from Acts 10..."The Gentile Invitation!"

The ministry will be conducting preaching & teaching points at Decatur county manor and Gunn Garden apartments.

The morning message will be part 1 of "The Righteousness of God".

Because of the Labor weekend, there will be no evening service.

Praise the Lord in Jesus Name! It is our prayer that this update will find all is well with you and yours and that the Presence of our Lord Jesus is bringing joy and peace in your minds.

This coming Sunday will be the last weekend of August 2011. We are praying for a very special visitation of the Lord in each of the teaching, worship and preaching points.

After the 9:45 AM sessions, the FPC family will be invited to Worship God in spirit and truth. The leadership team is believing God for an unprecedented outpouring of His Spirit upon this congregation. We Must Experience A Revival!!

In the 11:00 AM session, we will revisit the great subject of the Oneness of God. In an hour of the erosion of fundamental truths of the Word of God, the FPC family will affirm and consecrate ourselves to a fresh Love for the Oneness of God!

Greetings in Jesus! i trust this update finds all is well with each of you. This week has has been overshadowed with clouds of grief. We are praying for the Royce/Butts/England families at the loss of Sheila Royse

Also, we pray for the Rev. Harold Jaco family and extended families at the loss of Sister Juanita Jaco. Our God is the God of all comfort!

The FPC family is set to receive the ministry of Rev. & Mrs. Gordon Mallory this weekend. The Mallory's are dear friends and we are trusting the Lord Jesus to use their gifts to increase His Kingdom and Work among us.

We will continue the teaching points at D.C. Manor and Gunn Garden apartments as well as the many discipleship settings on campus.

The sanctuary class will continue the Book of Acts, chapter by chapter series with Acts 8:1-40..."The Gospel arrives in Samaria!"

Greetings & Welcome to the FPC blog in Jesus Name! It is our hope that these updates will serve to prepare your heart to receive the things of God that are coming.

Sister Burns and I are so thankful to be home! The missions trip to serve The Sanctuary Church of Maui, Hawaii is recorded in heaven. We still are seeking the Lord Jesus to complete the great work being done by Pastor Jeff Mallory and The Sanctuary Family.

This coming Sunday will be a very special day of Worship and Word. We are expecting the Lord Jesus to rain down His power and Presence in a special measure on each of the ministry points. All the campus classes will begin at 9:45 AM as well as the Gunn Garden outreach and the Decatur County rest home service.

The move of the Holy Ghost will deal with the FPC family on the subjects of Regeneration and Renewal this weekend.

Maui Missions Trip Update

Greetings in Jesus! A quick recap...

On Monday, July 25 we received a call from Rev. Gordon Mallory that ministry was much needed at the Sanctuary Maui (UPC) as Pastor Jeff Mallory (his son) had to be away in Washington D.C. for a season of special healthcare. Could we cover the upcoming midweek and weekend services?

We departed Nashville International on Wednesday, July 27 at 7:55 AM (CST) and arrived at Charlotte International and changed planes bound for Phoenix International We arrived in Phoenix and changed planes bound of Kahului, Maui at 1:45 PM (MST).

We arrived at the Kahului (OGG) airport on Wednesday, July 27 at 5:08 (PST). We commuted the 35 minutes to our accommodations (Pastor Jeff Mallory's home) and quickly dressed for service.

The Sanctuary family received us with tremendous love and hospitality and we ministered the Word of the Lord in the 7:30 PM service.

On Thursday, July 28 we spent day on a car ride to Hana, Maui. What an amazing experience.

It is now Friday morning and we are preparing to teach in the Student Ministry service at 7:30 PM tonight.

Greetings to all in Jesus Name!

Sister Burns and I greet you from the island of Maui, Hawaii. We are here ministering to the Sanctuary United Pentecostal Church family in the absence of their pastor, Rev. & Mrs. Jeff Mallory. Pastor Mallory is receiving some special healthcare in the Washington D.C. area and has invited us to minister this week to his precious congregation.

We have received the exciting reports of the 2011 VBS project. Ministry to the children is very near the heart of God. Thank you to Brother Bruce Wright and his teams for loving the children!!!

Back at FPC Parsons this Sunday, Brother Randy Jones and Rev. Tim Asher are scheduled to team teach the Book of Acts chapter 5 in the 9:45 AM session.

Rev. & Mrs. James Pearcy are preparing to minister in the 11:00 AM session in our absence. Sister Burns and I deeply love and appreciate our friends the Pearcy's!

The Pentecostals of Maui!

Sister Burns and I are preparing for a day of flying on Wednesday, July 27. We leave Nashville International, Nashville, TN at 7:55 AM and arrive at Kahului Airport, Maui, Hawaii at 5:08 local time.

We are scheduled to minister in the 7:30 PM session tomorrow evening for The Pentecostal of Maui church family. Our prayers and intercession abide with Pastor Jeff Mallory while he is receiving some special healthcare in Washington DC.

Our invitation to minister extends through Sunday, July 31 and we are scheduled to return to our call in Parsons, Tennessee on Tuesday, August 2.

Updates on this missions endeavor and the events planned for First Pentecost Parsons will be forthcoming.

Welcome and greetings in Jesus Name! Easter 2011 was a special day of fellowship with God and the family of God. We were delighted to receive our own, Rev. & Mrs. Jason Pearcy in the morning service and then the FPC gathered in the evening to enjoy a tremendous Tennessee river Catfish fry.

I greet you in Jesus Name! Thank you for coming by the blog. It is our hope that this venue is serving to keep you informed and encouraged.

Tomorrow will be another great day of the blessings of God. Brother Arthur Steward and Brother Keith Anglin will team teach "The 1st and 2nd Commandments" from Mark 12:29-31 in the FPC sanctuary class beginning at 9:45 AM.

Also at 9:45 AM, Rev. & Mrs. Thomas Gray will be ministering at the Gunn Garden apartments class and Rev. & Mrs. Tim Asher will minister at the D.C. Manor.

Lord willing, I will bring both the morning and evening message to the FPC family. The morning message will be lifted from Isaiah 24:15 "Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires..." I anticipate a great outpouring of the strength and Presence of the Lord.

FPC was blessed to host missionary to Croatia, Rev. & Mrs. Radovan Hajduk, this week. We have taken them on as Partners in Mission!

Greetings in Jesus! I trust all is well with each of you and that you are enjoying the presence and provision of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The past week has been a blur. Please forgive the tardy posting. On Friday & Saturday we were blessed to participate in IGNITE, the Tennessee district UPCI teacher training seminar at Lake Benson campground. We taught four session on Spiritual Perception.

Sunday, February 27 was exciting as the Holy Ghost fell at every preaching point throughout the city of Parsons as well as each discipleship class on the FPC campus. We moved our 6:30 PM service to The Pentecostal Church of Darden for an evening of fellowship and the Presence of God ministered to us all!

As of this post, Sister Burns and I, with the family, are in Bristol, TN on our way to Winchester, VA to minister at Cornerstone UPC for the rest of the week and on Sunday, March 6. We are very excited and honored and expect an outpouring of Spiritual workings on their campus this week.

In our absence, Rev. & Mrs. Jackie Wilkerson will be ministering in the FPC pulpit on Wednesday, March 2 and Rev. & Mrs. Tim Asher will be ministering in the weekend services on Sunday, March 6.

February 13 was an incredible weekend of worship and the Word. Before the evening service, the FPC family had a footwashing service and the presence of God overshadowed both the settings.

On Sunday, February 20, we are excited to receive a new ministry face. Evangelist Lee Wells from Texas will be ministering in both sanctuary services. Invite a Friend!

Also, the Education Ministry will be hosting our 2011 SOC banquet. The Save our Children goal for this year is $6000 by Easter (April 24)! Rev. & Mrs. Travis Grimsley, Tennessee district Sunday school Director, will be present at the banquet to promote Save our Children efforts. The banquet is RSVP by Friday, February 18.

The Mallory's ministered to the Apostolic Home on Wednesday & Thursday, taught at the UPCI district Frontline Home Missionary conference in Mt. Juliet on Friday & Saturday, and then returned to FPC on Sunday, February 6 to preach the Word! What incredible teaching & preaching. Thank you Rev. & Mrs. Gordon Mallory!!

Praise the Lord in Jesus Name!!!

January 9 was overshadowed with the blessing of God, although the weather hindered the evening service. We rejoiced as a first time guest received the Holy Ghost baptism and began to speak with tongues as the Spirit gave utterance.

The morning message came to us from Genesis 3:13, "what is this that thou hast done?". A deep conviction come to the FPC family and we were renewed in our appreciation for Calvary.

In just a few ours from this post 2010 will be history. As we enter the New Year, lets purpose to Pray, Worship, Seek Truth, and Give like we have never before. These 4 congregational attitudes, when soaked in the Love of God shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, WILL bring Revival to the believers and Harvest to the lost!

On this first Sunday of 2011, we sense the Spirit of God will challenge and encourage us see this season as a season of Revival & Harvest.

I apologize for the late post. First Pentecost has been a hub up activity as we have celebrated the work of the Holy Ghost this Christmas 2010.

Sunday, December 19 was an incredible day of 'new' things! The Sunday AM service was OVERSHADOWED with the an incredible move of God. In was a new 'high water mark' for seasonal services as the spirit of Worship came upon us and FPC responded beautifully.

We released the evening worship for the FPC family to travel to LifePoint Church Pulaski, TN to support this home missions work. The Christmas Chorale presented the musical "Hope Has Come" and the mighty presence of God visited the gathering!

Praise the Lord in Jesus Name! I trust this post will serve to guide your prayers for the coming weekend. Sister Burns and I are approaching this weekend with a focused faith for the Lord Jesus to pour out His Spirit in a tremendous way. We are specifically calling on the Lord to fill new believers with the Holy Ghost baptism and renew those already filled!!

We will continue the 2011 Creation series in sanctuary class. Sister Glenda Ruff and her team will continue to minister at the rest home and at the Gunn Garden apartments Sunday school class. We give God praise!

We are so thankful for all our Sunday school teaching staff. May God bless them all!

I appreciate you stopping over to read of the prayers and plans of FPC Parsons. We greet you in the High and Holy Name of Jesus!

The Sunday, October 31 services were overshadowed by the Power and Presence of God is an amazing way. We give God glory for drawing Rev. & Mrs. Mike Yarbro, a local Baptist pastor. He received a negative report concerning his health and he came to FPC to allow us to pray over him for healing and restoration. The Presence of God met with us in a very special way.

The ministries of Rev. & Mrs. Vandy Watt & Rev. Jason Avant were divinely timed and we are so thankful for their prayerful preparation.

Sunday, November 7 will likely be the launch of another extended Sunday morning class. Gunn Garden retirement center has opened its doors and we have 8 residents who have requested a service!! We give God praise. This brings us to two off-site Sunday services from 9:45 - 10:30 AM.

Greetings in Jesus Name! We are praying this post finds all is well with each of you.

First Pentecost Church is in a special season of the blessing of God. The summer of 2010 will be forever etched in our hearts as one of a special visitation of the Power, Presence and Providence of God.

On Sunday, September 19 we received guest pulpit, Rev. James Pearcy in the 11:00 AM service and then the FPC family received the Lord's Supper in the evening service. What a tremendous move of the Holy Ghost; many were strengthened and healing by the Word and Spirit of God.

Tonight we begin a 2 lesson series, "The Refuge" and we will continue to study the subject of Faithfulness in the sanctuary class on 9/16.

Sunday, September 12 was an amazing day in the Presence of the Lord.

We began @ 1:00 in the parking lot with the mortgage burning. What a tremendous moment of celebration as the FPC family officially finished the church mortgage process. We moved into the sanctuary and I rehearsed our coming and the 2010/2011 county crusade vision. This culminated with the commissioning of Rev. & Mrs. Tim Asher as the Project SHARE coordinators. FPC is so very blessed with capable leadership!

After a season of praise, worship and stewardship, Rev. Jason Sciscoe released a mighty Word from the Lord. Rev. James Pearcy captured the day when he said after service..."my life has been changed forever with this one service!"

Rain 2010 began in Parsons! Last night's student ministry devotion & prayer service lasted beyond midnight. Rev. Jason Sciscoe is being greatly used of God to encourage the student ministry and beginning this afternoon @ 1:00 and then again @ 6:30, he will be bringing the Word that God has for us...

September 2010 has brought a climatic reprieve as will as a spiritual atmosphere change at First Pentecost. Expectation has elevated. We can sense we are living in prophetic times and the FPC family is rising to the occasion.

We are preparing for another great "Rain" on Saturday, September 11. The spiritual forecast is 100% chance and we are ready for our God to 'pour out His Spirit' without measure. If you are free, we invite you to join us beginning at 1:00 Saturday for worship and then Rev. Jason Sciscoe, Dallas, TX will be ministering the Word in that 1:30 day session. After the day session move of God, we will begin breakout teaching sessions addressing various topics related to 21st century student ministry.

The evening service will be @ 6:30 with worship and Rev. Sciscoe will be ministering the Word again.

Since Sunday, August 1, Avery Yarbro (12) and Sybil Canada (68) have been baptized in the Lovely Name of Jesus Christ and Lisa Webb (?) received the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues...To God Be The Glory!!!

We are believing God for a great harvest during the season of reaping.

Sunday, June 27 was absolutely overshadowed of the Holy Ghost. The Lord Jesus ministered to many and for that we are thankful.

Praise the Lord to each of you! We have prayed the favor and blessing of God would follow the FPC family this week. May God grant you health and prosper you abundantly!

This last Sunday in June will be a very special day of worship and Word. Rev. John Guthrie and Brother Joseph Brown will be team teaching the Sanctuary Class as we conclude a month of lessons on Prayer. June is Here! I apologize for posting so late in the week, but here goes...

The sprint to complete the mortgage continues. I thank every contributor who has sacrificed to shorten the distance to the finish line. You will be blessed!

Tomorrow will begin the new Sunday school quarter and our classrooms have been a buzz of excitement as teachers are preparing to bring new lessons to their students. Thank you, teachers for caring!

Our Sanctuary class lesson, "Prayer; talking WITH God", will be taken from Matthew 6:5-13.

The morning message remains elusive at this point. I have 3 themes in my heart and we will see what comes by 11:00 in the morning. If I am allowed, I will be ministering on the subject of the necessity of Holy Ghost baptism.

In the evening service, we will receive the ministry of our own, Rev. & Mrs Tim Asher. They have been such a BLESSING to Pastor Larry Adair and Living Water UPC family during Rev. Adair's health issue. Thank you Asher family for making sacrifices for the Kingdom!

Praise the Lord!

Pentecost Sunday was incredible! I thank every person who gave themselves to the work of the Holy Ghost and made Pentecost Sunday 2010 one to be recorded.

Rev. John Guthrie is scheduled to bring the Sanctuary class lesson this coming Sunday. Lord willing, I will be ministering to the FPC family on the subject of the Love of God in the 11:00 AM service. Rev. & Mrs. Doug Ellingsworth & Family is scheduled to minister in the evening service. You do not want to miss what God is doing at Parsons FPC.

On a side note, our new mortgage balance is $9578.00!!!!!!

Greetings!

First Pentecost is in exciting times! After a tremendous spirit of giving over the weekend, $10,300.00 was put on the mortgage principle today. The new mortgage balance will be just under $12,000.00!!!!

Along side this, and most important, a spirit of prayer prevails. We are anticipating a move of God on Pentecost Sunday and encourage the FPC family to believe for great things on Sunday, May 23rd.

We will receive the ministry of Rev. & Mrs. Bill Parkey, Poplar Bluff, Missouri for Pentecost Sunday services. Rev. Parkey is both a capable and gifted minister and will be used of God in a great way.

Greetings All,

Just getting to post for the week. Sister Burns and I greet you from beautiful East Tennessee. We are in Johnson City celebrating the dedication of the new Baxter Street church facility (www.praiseandtruth.com) and what a great time in the Lord we are having. The Praise and Truth family is such a precious congregation and we have enjoyed ministering among them.

Back in Parsons, Rev. John Guthrie is ministering the Word to the FPC family this weekend. He taught a powerful lesson on "Hope" this morning in the Sanctuary class. The church leadership team; Keith Anglin, Randy Jones, Jeff Pearcy, and Arthur Steward greeted the church family in the 11:00 service and the presence of God visited the house!

Tonight, after a season of prayer and praise, the FPC family will again receive Rev. John Guthrie to the FPC pulpit. We are believing God for a great outpouring of His Word and Spirit in the services both in Parsons and Johnson City. Please join with us and believe God.

Praise the Lord!

I greet each of you in the precious Name of Jesus Christ, the only God and Savior. Our prayer is that you are being blessed and recognize the favor of God in your life.

Sunday, May 2 services were released due to the torrential rains and flooding that moved into our area on Friday and Saturday. We thank God that most of the First Pentecost family was spared any major losses and, most importantly, that our families were kept safe.

Beginning this Sunday, May 9, Rev. John Guthrie will be teaching the Sanctuary class for the rest of the month of May 2010. Please bring your Bible and join him in St. Matthew 15:21-28 for this weeks lesson; "Living By Faith".

Sunday, May 9 is also Mother's Day and the First Pentecost Church Ladies Ministries will be making a special presentation after which the 2010 Mother's Day message will come to us from 2 John 1:1 & 4.

Praise the Lord and greetings in Jesus! I am hoping this will find all is well with each of you and that your April 2010 was filled with the operation of the Holy Ghost in your life.

April 2010 was exciting for the First Pentecost Family. We were blessed to receive the guest ministries of Rev. & Mrs. D.W. Tipton (Vicksburg, MS), Rev. & Mrs. Jeff Dillon (Winchester, VA) and Rev. & Mrs. Phillip Miller (Jackson, TN). Each of these ministries released the Word of God with anointing and boldness. We are blessed!

We rejoiced with Brother Carl Stateler when he was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 14.

We have noted a special touch of God's Presence on the services as He continues to prepare the Church for His soon return.

Sunday, May 2, 2010 will be an exciting day of worship and fellowship. The morning service will be a special time of celebration and ministry of the Word. Beginning at 4:00 PM we will enjoy our spring church fish fry and afterward meet for an all church softball game. A fun time is expected to be had by all!

As of this writing, I will be bringing the morning lesson at 9:45 to the Sanctuary class and then releasing the morning message in the master service at 11:00. By Saturday morning, Lord willing, I will post a preview of the impression of for the weekend.

Family Foundations Sunday was incredible! The presence of the Lord prompted repentance, renewing and revelation. The FPC family received the ministry of Rev. Darrell Sparks (Portland, Oregon) and he ministered in both the morning and evening services. The messages were direct and life changing. Revival services begin tonight with Rev. Larry Blackwell and will continue through Thursday evening. Rev. Blackwell is one of our own and will be working in the evangelistic gift. He will be ministering to those who are coming to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. We are also believing for a special operation of the gifts of the Spirit and miracles. Believe with us!

We are expecting Sunday, March 28 to be a dynamic day of prayer, worship and works of the Holy Ghost. I will be bringing the morning and evening messages to the FPC family and will be praying that our God will minster to specific needs.
